Usually none of that works, because all three complaints share one root cause: elasticity — the hair fiber's ability to stretch under tension and spring back to its original length without breaking. Elasticity is the hidden variable behind hold. A style is nothing more than a temporary reshaping of millions of fibers; whether those fibers accept the shape, keep it, and survive the process is decided by their elasticity long before you pick up a tool.
